I soccer fan living in Canada. I have only been following soccer on a regular basis, (both domestically and foreign leagues) since approximately 2006. Before this it was only sporadically hearing about Canada's progress in WC qualifying and watching the WC every 4 years. My first professional game was at Beazley Field in Dartmouth Nova Scotia: The Vancouver 86ers v. the N.S. Clippers. I can also add as a that I was one of 6 who submitted the name "Clippers" and therefore had a share of the wininnings in the "name the team contest" as a 13 year old.
I have no allegiance to any team aside from the Canadian Men's National team. The team I most regularily cheer for is TFC, though I am undecided who I will cheer for once Vancouver and Montreal join the MLS. If Ottawa ever got an MLS team, which is doubtful, all allegiance to TFC would probably be out the window, given my place of residence.
My preferred league to watch is currently the Premiership, unless you can call the UEFA Champions League a "league".
